Saturday, September 8, 2018• 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Location: Zeidler Union Square• 301 W Michigan St, Milwaukee, WI 53203
On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us. As part of this movement, a coalition of 20+ groups will be hosting a People’s Climate Rally and March in Milwaukee, WI. Starting at noon, we’ll have tables and other exhibits in Zeidler Union Square. At 1 PM, we’ll have a rally, and afterwards we will march to the Milwaukee City Hall and back.
Our coalition has decided to be a partner in supporting the local action in MKE as part of the international day on Sept. 8 for action against Climate Change. We have seen severe weather events in the U.S., but the impact and threats are much greater against those who live to the south, especially in islands such as Cuba and Puerto Rico, and suffer from severe weather and flooding. Remember Hurricane Maria and what it did to Puerto Rico and other island nations. Hurricanes are more intense and frequent now, due to the warmer ocean waters.
Join us as we hold our local leaders to account and demand that they walk the talk on climate action.
